Biography

Nathalie Tocci is the Director of the Istituto Affari Internazionali, Honorary Professor at the University of Tübingen, non-executive and independent board member of Acea, and Europe’s Futures Fellow at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (Iwm). She has served as a Special Adviser to the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and Josep Borrell. In this capacity, she worked on drafting the European Union’s Global Strategy and its implementation.

She has been a Pierre Keller Visiting Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School and, prior to her current role at Acea, she served as an independent advisor for Edison and later Eni. Previously, she was a researcher at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels, the Transatlantic Academy in Washington, the European University Institute in Fiesole, and taught at the College of Europe in Bruges.

Her current research interests include European integration and European foreign policy, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, transatlantic relations, multilateralism, conflict resolution, energy, climate, and defense.
