Cristina Marullo is an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin, Department of Management Engineering (DIGEP), where she teaches economics and innovation management. She earned her Ph.D. in Management of Innovation, Sustainability, and Healthcare from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (Pisa) and a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Florence. She is a member of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EIC) at the Polytechnic University of Turin and a Research Affiliate at the Institute of Management of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (Pisa). Previously, she was an Assistant Professor of Business Economics and Management and a Research Affiliate at the Department of Excellence EMBEDS (Economics and Management in the era of Data Science) at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, and a research fellow at the Keith Pavitt Laboratory of the University of Florence. She serves on the Editorial Board of Creativity and Innovation Management and the International Journal of Business Research and Management.
Cristina has participated in international research projects involving, among others, the Institute of Prospective Technological Studies Joint Research Center (IPTS JRC) of the European Commission and the European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group). She has collaborated on international research with universities from EU and non-EU countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Korea, and Australia. Her research topics cover the fields of the economics of innovation, R&D and innovation management, and entrepreneurship. Her research has been published in journals such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change, R&D Management, Technovation, Technology Analysis and Strategic Management, Creativity and Innovation Management, and BMC Health Services Research. She was awarded the Best Paper Proceedings by the Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) division of the Academy of Management in 2018.
