This workshop offers a critical and interactive exploration of the electoral system as a central instrument of representative democracy. It will analyze the main types of electoral systems, highlighting how they influence political representation and the distribution of power.
Special focus will be given to systemic distortions—such as majoritarian effects or gerrymandering—and their impact on democratic legitimacy.
The workshop will also address the phenomenon of voter abstention and encourage reflection on direct democracy as a possible tool to integrate or replace traditional representation.
Through participatory sessions, simulations and debates, attendees will be encouraged to actively engage with the challenges and potential of democratic participation today.

This workshop explores the world of data journalism and data-driven communication with a practical approach focused on creating effective, visually engaging informational content.
Guided by the YouTrend team, participants will learn how to identify reliable sources, select relevant data, build understandable visual narratives, and write clear, verifiable messages—even for short or viral social formats.
During the lab session, participants will design real digital content, experimenting with visualization techniques, tone of voice, and audience analysis.
The goal is not only to counter misinformation, but to promote a new culture of communication: transparent, data-based, and capable of building trust.
