Dr. Julia Cajal-Grossi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID). Previously, she has been a visiting fellow in the Evidence for Policy Design program at the Harvard Kennedy School. Her research lies at the intersection between development, international trade and industrial organization. In particular, Julia’s research leverages administrative data, surveys and experiments to study issues of market power, contracting between firms and information frictions in supply chains.
Her ongoing work looks at sustainable sourcing in global value chains, and its impact on local labor markets in developing countries. As part of this agenda, she has collaborated extensively with international organizations and NGOs focused on working conditions in supply chains.
