Dr Rocco Macchiavello is an Associate Professor in Management at the LSE. Previously, he has been a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Nuffield College (Oxford University), Harvard Kennedy School, and a Professor of Economics at Warwick University. He is a research fellow with BREAD, CEPR, JPAL and IPA and a Co-Editor of the Journal of Law, Economics and Organization. Rocco’s current research studies sustainable sourcing and supply chains and markets and firms in weakly institutionalised environments.
His work lies at the intersection of development, organisational and industrial economics. Rocco has conducted research in several countries (Bangladesh, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Pakistan and Rwanda), sectors (coffee, flowers, dairy and garments) and has collaborated with numerous government agencies, international organizations, social enterprises and large companies.
