The International Festival of Economics in Turin congratulates Joel Mokyr and Philippe Aghion, winners of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
Both have been featured in several editions of our Festival, offering the Turin audience outstanding contributions on economic growth, innovation, and the development of ideas.
Joel Mokyr, a world-renowned economic historian, has been among our guests since the very first edition of the Festival and has repeatedly captivated audiences with his reflections on the links between knowledge, technological progress, and the prosperity of nations.
Philippe Aghion, one of the leading scholars of growth theory and the economics of innovation, has brought to Turin his vision of how competition and scientific research are fundamental drivers of economic and social progress.
Today’s recognition honors not only two extraordinary economists, but also two thinkers who have inspired generations of scholars and citizens.
